Tales to Warm Your Heart

Let spellbinding storytellers and musicians kindle your wintertime spirit with Friends of the Library's 16th annual Winter Stories program on December 11. Themed "Tales to Warm Your Heart," the program will take place in Wilson Library. The fun will begin with refreshments in the lobby at 5 p.m. and continue with seasonal tales and music from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room.

Storytellers will be Brian Sturm, associate professor at the UNC School of Information and Library Science, and SILS master's students Siobhan Loendorf, Meredith Sutphin, and Katherine Kemp. "Tales to Warm Your Heart" will include Ukrainian, German, Siberian, and Native American folktales.

Instrumental music will be provided by guitarist and SILS library assistant Kate Barnhart; flutist and Davis Library music cataloger Laurie Neuerburg; guitarist and Library federal documents coordinator Carolyn Shomaker; and violinist and music graduate student Christina Davison. There will also be a sing-along.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in most campus lots after 5 p.m. For more information, contact Liza Terll at 919-962-4207.
