Library Team Wins Campus Information Technology Award

April 24, 2009 -- Congratulations to Library Systems staff members Stephen Ball and Kevin Otte. They are among the team winners of the 17th Annual Information Technology Award, presented April 21.

Ball and Otte were recognized for their efforts in January to provide high-definition broadcast coverage of the presidential inauguration on video screens in Davis, House Undergraduate, and Wilson libraries.

According to Will Owen, head of Library Systems, the pair found a solution that did not saturate campus bandwidth at a time when many individuals wanted to connect to various Web services in order to view or participate in Inauguration Day events.
