Undergraduate Library's Media Resources Center unveils FilmFinder

The Media Resources Center (formerly Nonprint) of the R.B. House Undergraduate Library now has a searchable filmography available for its collection of more than 10,000 film titles available on VHS, DVD and 16mm. The database allows users to search by:

Due to popular demand, FilmFinder also allows users to browse its film collection. FilmFinder contains lists by title, genre, origin, and director. Additional genre lists are currently under development, but in the meantime, please remember to consult the MRC's Collection Guides for the exhaustive film lists that you have grown to know and love.

Descriptions in FilmFinder, currently under development, will include in-depth descriptions of films. But perhaps you want even more information. Want to know information down to the finest detail, such as who played "Jailbird #1" in There's Something About Mary? FilmFinder also allows you to follow a link for the film in the Internet Movie Database, the most comprehensive film database freely available on the Web.

Now that you've found what you're looking for, are you wondering how you get that film to use in your classroom or borrow it for your personal use? FilmFinder contains records for approximately 6760 circulating and 6763 non-circulating films. Users can follow a link on the format field (VHS, DVD, or 16mm) directly to the Library's online catalog to check for availability or circulation status in that format.

The Media Resources Center is the Undergraduate Library's new state-of-the-art facility for audio-visual services.
