Maps Reference, Parts of Maps Collection Moving August 23

The library's maps reference service is moving from the Wilson Library to the Davis Library Reference Department, effective August 23, 2006. For assistance using the library's Maps Collection after that date, please come to Davis Library, call (919) 962-1151, or ask a librarian.

Also coming to Davis are parts of the maps collection, including: general maps for the world and the United States, comprehensive coverage for North Carolina, a large collection of atlases for all areas of the world, the gazetteer collection, and a selection of cartographic reference works. The remainder of the collection will stay in the Wilson Library and items will be retrieved for patrons as requested.

This change enables the library to provide maps assistance in the evening hours and on the weekend.

The Maps Collection web page gives more information about maps at UNC-Chapel Hill's libraries. Use the Map Finder service to learn about maps not listed in the online catalog.
