Sarah Michalak Appointed University Librarian
Please join us in welcoming Sarah C. Michalak, our newly appointed University Librarian and Associate Provost for University Libraries. Michalak, who began work on September 20th, was director of the University of Utah's J. Willard Marriott Library. Prior to that, she served in a number of capacities at the University of Washington, including Assistant Director for Library Development and Planning, Head of Collection Access Services and Library Development, and Head of the Science Libraries, and as Head of the Bio-Agricultural Library at the University of California, Riverside. Michalak received her MLS from the University of California at Los Angeles and has served on the boards of the Association of Research Libraries and the Library Administration and Management Association and has been active in the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, and the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition. Her research interests include digital libraries, library portals, and library administration and management. We are delighted that she has joined our staff.
