New Resource: Newspapers Database
Ever wanted more information about the newspapers carried by the libraries but didn't know where to look? Serials Information Services is happy to announce the creation of a new information resource available on the library web site where you will find the answers to your questions about your newspaper collection.
There are over 140 newspapers currently received by the library; while most of them are located in the Reading Room in Davis Library, there are more to be found in other libraries as well. These newspapers come in 11 languages and from 17 countries. Using the search page, you will be able to find your newspaper searching by country of origin, language, or the location where the paper can be found. Some newspapers may also be found by searching by city and/or state of publication. Information returned by the newspaper search page includes title, origin, handling of back issues, retention information and microfilm call numbers. There are also links on each page to the Electronic Indexes and Databases (EID) where one can find electronic versions of many of these titles. We hope you find this an informative and useful tool and look forward to hearing feedback from you about this new resource.
