AIDS Memorial Quilt panel hanging in Davis Library.
We our pleased to sponsor once again a panel from the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The Center for Healthy Student Behavior (located within Student Health Services) has provided a panel of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in conjunction with World AIDS Day 2002. Each panel memorializes someone who has passed away due to AIDS. Worldwide, there are more than 44,000 panels, making the quilt the largest community arts project in the world.
The overall purpose of the quilt is to create a means for remembrance, illustrate the enormity of the epidemic, increase public awareness, assist with HIV prevention efforts, raise money for community-based AIDS service organizations, and bring an end to the disease. The quilt is on loan from the NAMES Project Foundation. For more information call Scott Butler at 966-8123, or visit www.aidsquilt.org.
