University Libraries Introduce Redesigned Website!
The University Libraries welcomes you to our redesigned website.
More resources are easier to get to from the homepage, access to commonly used resources such as the Catalog is available from nearly every page. In an effort to help you navigate the new site, we have outlined the major changes below and listed various online resources for seeking help with the Libraries' website.
We hope that you like the new design and are able to find resources easier. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact the Web Team.
What Has Changed?
Where do I Get Help?
- Ask a Librarian - Use email forms, an online chat client, and/or get phone numbers to ask a librarian for help conducting research at the library.
- Email the Webteam - Use this web form to report problems about the website or make suggestions for improving it.
- Contact Library Administration - Use this web form to report problems about or make suggestions for improving the libraries' services or facilities.
- Departmental Resources - Links to email addresses of the person responsible for a departmental library's website will appear at the bottom of every web page. Click on these links to open an email client and send mail to this person about their web content.
List of Libraries in a Dropdown Menu on Nearly Every Page
A dropdown menu with links to individual library websites will appear on most pages in the website. From this menu you can get to the department libraries such as Art, Biology, Math, as well as to the Libraries' special collections which are listed at the bottom of the menu.Simply select an option from the dropdown menu and click the "Go" button on the right.
Links to the Health Sciences and Law libraries are included in this list; you can also get to these two libraries by clicking on the text links at the top of each page.

New Banner
The Libraries' banner will appear on nearly every page in the website. It serves to inform the user when the page displayed is maintained by the Libraries. By clicking on the portion of the image labeled "The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill" you can get to the University's homepage from anywhere on our site. You can also click on the word "Libraries" to return to the Libraries' homepage.

Catalog Search from Nearly Every Page A form to search the Libraries' catalog will appear on nearly every page in the website. From this form you can find books, journals (electronic and print), videos, DVDs, and microforms. Simply enter your search terms in the text field on the left and choose from the dropdown menu on the right to limit the search to a keyword, title, subject, or author and click the "Go" button on the right. Other types of searches are available by going directly to the catalog. For help using the Libraries' catalog, please, ask a librarian. Go Back to What has Changed?

Quicklinks in a Dropdown Menu on Nearly Every Page
A dropdown menu with links back to the most commonly used library web resources will appear on nearly every page in the website. From this menu you can get to the Libraries' catalog, electronic indexes and databases, and electronic journals. You can also get to a list of library locations and hours, go directly to the reference resources, or search the Libraries' website. There are also links to chat, email, or a list of phone numbers to ask a librarian a reference question. To get to these resources simply select an option from the dropdown menu and click the "Go" button on the right.

Navigational Footers on Every Page
Text links to the Libraries' homepage, the UNC homepage, as well as to interim pages with resources maintained by the departmental libraries will appear at the bottom of every page in the website. Contact information for the person responsible for the content in that page will also be listed below the links. Click on these links to open an email client and send mail to this person about their web content.
