Library Announces Reorganization, New Appointments
Nov. 20 - The University Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) has announced a change in administrative organization and four associated appointments.
The library last year completed a five-year plan that prioritized areas including collections, services, digital library development, staff and organization, and facilities, said Sarah C. Michalak, University Librarian and Associate Provost for University Libraries. "Our reorganization assigns responsibility for these critical areas to individuals whose experience and skill will move us toward completion of our goals very quickly," said Michalak.
In addition to these appointments, Richard Szary joined the UNC library on Sept. 1 as Director of the Louis Round Wilson Library and AUL for Special Collections with responsibility to develop the Carolina Digital Library.
"With these key positions, filled," said Michalak, "I am confident that the UNC library is well poised to move forward with the implementation of our plans."
