Wilson Library Treasure Tour

Wilson Library, meet in the lobby
"African-American History" will be the theme of February's free guided treasure tour in Wilson Library. Among the items that the tour will showcase are the following:
- The original manuscripts of George Moses Horton, a former slave from Chatham County, N.C. who was the first African-American to publish a book in the south;
- Photographs and newspapers relating to the integration of the Chapel Hill campus;
- An autographed first edition of Richard Wright's classic novel Native Son and a first edition of The Autobiography of Malcolm X.

February is also the last chance to see the exhibition "Slavery and the Making of the University: Celebrating our Unsung Heroes, Bond and Free." It will be on display through February 28 in the Manuscripts Department on the fourth floor of Wilson Library. For information call (919) 962-1345.
