IM a Librarian at the Stone Center Library - "stonecenterref"

stonecentersticker

When can I Instant Message a librarian?
We are available on Instant Message during reguarly scheduled hours.

Who can use this service?
This service is intended primarily for UNC-CH students, faculty, and staff, but questions from other users are welcome.

What kind of questions can I ask?
We will attempt to answer all of your questions. In order to answer your questions fully, you may be asked to email a librarian or to schedule a research consultation.

Will I need to wait to chat with the librarian?
Patrons at the Stone Center Library have priority over IM patrons. IM patrons are taken in a first-come-first-served order. Alternatively, you may always email a librarian or visit the Stone Center Library for assistance.

How can I IM the librarian?
If you have AOL Instant Messenger installed on your computer, simply add our buddy name, stonecenterref, to your buddy list. If you do not wish to download and install Instant Messenger on your computer, you may use another version of Instant Messenger, AIM Express. This service allows you to create a screen name and to chat, without downloading any software.

The library may save the transcript of your chat session, which will be used for educational and research purposes only. We will make every effort to protect your privacy. Any information you provide will remain confidential and only library staff will have access to your transcript.

Please contact a librarian if you have any questions about this service.
