The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History Library's collection gathers works on the African American experience, Africa and the African Diaspora, with a focus on the social sciences and humanities. The library has a small collection of print periodicals, and provides access to a wide array of electronic journals and databases. The Stone Center Library works closely with the other UNC-Chapel Hill libraries to develop resources in African American Studies.
The library features reading and browsing areas, two group study rooms, and 10 study carrels, all of which are equipped with Internet port connections. In addition, the library has wireless capabilities. A printer is available for use with a UNC One Card. At this time there is no photocopier available for student use. However, a scanner is available.
Materials may be checked out of the Stone Center Library with a UNC One Card or Library Borrower's Card. Interlibrary loan is available through Davis Library. Books and materials checked out of the Stone Center Library may be returned to Davis Library as well.
Food and drinks are not permitted in the Stone Center Library.
