I gather from all that you said today that you really never considered yourself a feminist.

Ellen Black Winston:
No.  I sometimes said that it was only after I read Anne Scott’s Southern Lady that I realized that I had done anything that might be defined as trail-blazing or different, because it just all seemed natural and one thing followed another.  No doors were closed that I wanted to go through, that sort of thing.
